Stuff I Should Be Writing About

There are a few things on my mind today that would make worthy topics for a blog post.

I could write about how horrible it must be to be a journalist since casting aspersions against the media seems to have replaced racism and conspiracy as a get-out-of-jail-free card played when powerful people find themselves in awkward positions, with a bonus paragraph about how magnanimous Irvin Khoza is being in acknowledging that the World Cup isn’t about him. In honour of Commentary’s Official Freedom of Information Day, I thought I’d share some of the vital information South African’s will be able to access at with their new uncapped bandwidth.

For example, trailers for indie comedy films about British jihadists, or hilariously awkward online talkshows hosted by bearded underground comedians.

Stuff I Like: Alt Movie Posters

I’m a big fan of the mini-trend of artists creating alternate movie posters, either updating classics or just interpreting their favourite movies in an original way. I deal with movie posters a lot in my job and they tend to be rather formulaic,  so a poster that doesn’t worry about shoe-horning in names and faces of stars and isn’t decked out in marquees and catch-phrases is rather refreshing.
